I can do it in the parking lot in 45 minutes now... :) just need a special socket... whether you use filtered WVO or BioDiesel you'll have issues... minor... If you keep the ratio of pump Diesel up compared to WVO or BioDiesel you'll lessen your troubles... I haven't run either in my TDIs since the IP and injector replacement... I put too much in and the filter clogged, bringing up metal from the internals of the pump, finishing that IP off... the shop said is was NOT the bioDiesel that did it, the hard surfaces were already worn... the filter clogging is what triggered the final death stroke... on my '91 300D the filler grommet was dissolved from bioDiesel... it looked like a salvador dali painting... I haven't had the nerve to run either in any of my three Diesels... when superdawg is done I will run it in the old Nissan SD33T, it's an inline pump with a lot of metal parts... will plumb things with Viton line... I'd run it in older OM617 as well... but the OM603 and 602 and TDIs I'm not so sure I want to go there again... maybe a couple of gallons of wvo or biod per tank... but is it really worth getting messy over $8??? when you're getting 30mpg in town with an automatic Diesel is it really worth it? my J10 with the SD33T will get about 20 - 24 mpg... that makes sense to run WVO / Biod... my benz is getting 21-24 mpg in town... but it's so pristine I can't bring myself to putting anything but pump Diesel in it... all the lines are dry, the filler neck perfect... which reminds me... I need to call the insurance company and insure my silver jetta wagon... looks like I'll be having four vehicles for a while... got the 300D up at $5500, seems like a fair price considering it's condition and what I have in it... have over $8k into it, never going to see that again unless I keep it... but I'd rather go backwards a few grand and even spend more to finish fixing the jetta tdi wagon than drive it... not that there's anything wrong with it, just like the functionality of the jetta wagon more... not as crazy about the sedan, but my wife likes it and it is a very nice car too... maybe I need to expand the monster carport... ;) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- fahrvergnugen y'all - please reply to: john-at-wagoneers.com Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps and VWs don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 TRSTGZS http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Wed, 22 Feb 2012, jjs3rd-at-ix.netcom.com wrote: # Thought the greases and those who have ever thought of doing it would be interested in this article. The BOLO stemmed from the reported theft of used cooking oil at Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Westport Avenue, where a white van was seen driving away. # # Hours later, Carnegie was spotted pulling out of Balducci's parking lot on Post Road East, where officers were quickly hot on his alleged greasy trail. # # An odor of grease wafted through the air as officers combed through Carnegie's van, which contained two 275-gallon tanks and a 55-gallon tank of used cooking oil. Carnegie, clad in a green jumpsuit splattered with grease, sat handcuffed on a curb, where he allegedly admitted to a two-month local stint of stealing oil. # # He was charged with 6th degree larceny by Westport police and turned over to Norwalk for additional charges. Details of Carnegie's Norwalk charges were not released as of press time Tuesday. Carnegie also faces a warrant issued out of Greenwich. # # Police say selling used grease is highly profitable. Legitimate grease haulers typically pay business owners 15 cents per gallon for the used grease, which is then sold at a rate of approximately $1.60 per gallon to bio-diesel companies. # # Carnegie, however, allegedly cut the locks on grease traps at local businesses and used a hose from his truck to siphon the grease. # # On Feb. 2, Norwalk police seized a grease truck that may be connected to a series of thefts in Norwalk and surrounding areas. # # # Filed under: andrew carnegie | norwalk police | westport police | # ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #3866 **************************
