I am pretty sure that the TF727 doesn't move any fluid through the transmission in park so when you put it in drive, you are actually starting with a cold transmission. When I put the TF727 in my old CJ, I would actually goo outside and start the engine and put it in neutral to warm the tranny up at the same time as the engine. The way I learned to adjust the kickdown linkage was to hold the carb (or in my case the throttle body) bellcrank full open and adjust the linkage such that it would hold the valve on the transmission open at that position. Another thing that I did to that transmission was installing a Lokar kickdown cable. It really seemed to help and adjusting it was a whole lot easier IMO. Just my 2-cents' worth.
