The nerve injury was a repetitive motion injury that repairing a parking lot was what really set it off. It got bad enough that I couldn't reach the top shelf of the refrigerator. The hernias I don't know, but my guess has something to do with the fact that I worked construction for a lot of years in my misspent youth and then was always the guy helping friends with remodels when I worked an office job (they helped me as well...bunch of guys in our 20s always working on houses...we had a lot of fun with it) and then I was working construction again when the bottom fell out of automotive. Now I am working with four different physical therapists and for the most part I am doing pretty well with it, but I aggravate it about twice a year. I ended up in this little hole in the wall place for physical therapy that seems to largely be run by old dancers and one old marathon runner who take a ton of pride in what they do. As John pointed out I was a young pup when I got on an earlier version of this list when I was 20 back in 1996. So not that old now....36 if my subtraction skills are correct. So...floors. I bought my panels from a place called classic2current.com (or something like that) and the patch panels had been hand made with a sheet metal brake and a bead roller. (which is weird because I bought a patch panel for a friend's 69 Dodge Coronet and it was stamped on a nice tool and if fit his car pretty well) I am not to my front floors yet (I am going from worst to best to prevent the Wag from collapsing) but looking at the patches I got I think I could have made the same things with a bead roller, a body hammer, and two sections of angle iron. (I flange metal all the time with a body hammer and the metal clamped between two pieces of angle iron, although I have to pace myself with the body hammer.) Snap me some pics off list and I will tell you what crosses my mind. Also make templates out of poster board. If you can make it out of poster board and tape you can make it out of steel. I think BJ's has patch panels and from the pictures they look better than the classic2current.com ones. Also do you have any Wagoneers in your yards down in Texas? If you can find a clean one and get the yard to cut the floor out that should fit best. I think the J-truck front floors are pretty close to the Wag floors. It would make far more sense for me to find a better Wagoneer, but you have a car for 20+ years and you get attached to it. The wagoneer floor(s), I am still wondering where the water is coming from as the rear driver's side floor is alway wet after a rainfall.... wagoneer parked not driving. For the back pain while driving certain vehicle, the seat position is the key. One of our colleague was almost ready for spine surgery because of pain, when he consulted a chiropractor who asked him what was he driving.... then adjust the seat and the pain was gone in 24hrs..... surgery canceled... yes 24hrs. Not growing up.... yes, after a 1000 miles of off-roading on 2 wheels in Death Valley, it was fun, but taxing... I slept most afternoon for 3 days after we came back.... And for the drug of choice, try and see what works, some drug works better than other for some specific pain. Some people think that generic are different.
