Jim, do you have the section that holds the spare that goes toward the front? sure is a LOT of space under this bed... one could just about put a small station wagon under the floor between the rear axle and rear bumper. :) hmmm... the bumper isn't a stock one... sticks out... if I fabricated a frame that hung on both frame rails and came out the back into a bumper, I could create a sliding drawer that could hold the spare, tools, jacks, chains, etc... of course it would slide out the back about 4 feet, might not be real convenient for any city folks... :) suppose I could make it shorter so it'd work on the shortbox too... I'm pretty sure I have 3.31 in the diff I was about to pull apart for the RH axle shaft (for my Honcho) unless it's 2.72 (being a 4 speed, I doubt it) 2.72 is okay until you go anything taller than stock. I'm SERIOUSLY thing about putting in a Ranger O/D on the T18A (since no-one has been interested in it here) when I put in my 290 motor. It'll go right where the spacer is between the bell and trans so the drivetrain won't need other alterations. It'll be easy enough to sell the AX-15 I have. Still have to deal with the paperwork on the Honcho, but that will wait till I sell my '81 C20 with 454 so I have the money to deal with this stuff. Heat riser is what you're looking for. It might be cracked. I think there is a GM replacement ('80s RWD Buick) that has no flapper in it.
