Decided to finally pulled the water pump off the 85... it has been dripping... but finally the drip developed to a small puddle.... only at warm up. Indeed the weep hole showed rust, and the shaft had a little slop, but no damage to the timing cover. Finding the nut for the A/C was really challenging... too much caked oil.. covering it... I had to look at the TSM.... so that took a good 2 hours.... to get there.... because I decided to flush the system before removal.... and there was so much rust that I did it twice. So now the PS does not come off... because the fuel pump is in the way... I cannot rotate the PS pump because the larger distributor cap prevent that and I cannot grab the distributor plug... there is no way to slide the safety tabs with 2 hands...after that I brush off the insulation on the horn wire. After removing the water pump I decided to clean the threads.... and I break the chaser in the last hole.... Time to stop.... have dinner and get parts to be ready to remove the timing cover..... too bad, I could not feel any timing chain slop when I rotated the crank back and forth... it is tight, the distributor shaft was tight.... Of course while I am at it.... I realized that the big glob is probably a leaky intake manifold gasket... Enjoy the weekend....
