DEF is available at all truckstops - see http://www.factsaboutscr.com/ for more info. I will also include a link to an Australian AdBlue manufacturer: http:/www.nonox.com.au/ Hope this helps, Joe ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 May 2012 10:16:21 -0700 From: Jim Blair Subject: RE: fsj: Murphy is spending the weekend here Who fed him after midnight and threw him in the pool? Results: 1 - I broke the cup, not too much but I did it. It still can be used, the problem was that one of the bolts had the threads really worn out and when I forced the nut.... the head of the bolt broke some of the internal cup divisions. I could not take out the nut, I'll buy a "terraja" (in spanish), that cutting tool that performs the thread on a bolt. 2 - The contact were no so bad, which resulted very strange for me... they didn't connect, that's why I changed the solenoid. I start to believe there are some current leaks in the coil (isolation problems), if this is true it will have not enough power to connect the switch. You can hear the "clack" but the starter did not spun. 3 - I found 4 wires coming out from the winding case, so there are 2 coils, one with thicker wire than the other. The one with thin wire is connected to the case and to the external small contact, the one that is fed when you turn the key. The thick one is connected to the key turning switch contact (same as the thin one) and to the big contact that feeds the starter motor (not the big one directly connected to the battery). I thought there were only one coil. 4 - solution (I hope so), I bought an original replacement part from ebay, the US guy will ship it on Tuesday by USPS first class mail international, 70 dollars in total, 40 for the solenoid and 30 for shipping. Next Actions: 1 - wait for the replacement. 2 - put it to work (next weekend after replacement arrives) 3 - try to repair some of the others, maybe I can use some Chinese parts to repair the English solenoid, or the other way. Thank you for keeping Mr. Murphy away most of the time, he only step by 3 seconds to make me break the internal cup divisions [?] Regards, Ernesto.
