I fear them as much as I loathe them... :) when they work I'm afraid they won't... it'll ride nice, go anywhere, and even with that 4.2L I-6 will pull stumps and rovers out that are stuck. it'll handle "ok", they didn't add roll-bars (anti-sway) until later... maybe... if it has one in the front it'll behave itself... power steering that will allow you to turn with your little finger... plenty of room under the hood... 750 euros is what? 1500 USD? fair price... it looks to be rust free... rear quarters and floor pans rust, but easily patched with old license plates and bondo. :) if this is your first full size jeep experience you'll be amazed, impressed and hooked... they're addictive... beware. :) I've had 28 of them, still own 2... and my son has an 85 grand wagoneer. we took our '83 J10 into town the other day and realized it rode and drove better than our Jetta, our old Mercedes 300D and our '05 KJ CRD... :) I wish I could get my buddy to put my other '83 J10 back together with the Diesel so I can drive it... I love my Jetta, but if I had to chose, the J10 will be my choice... I almost sold my J10 for a narrow track like this... it was nice, white... 1980... automatic, 4.2l... had my j10 sold to a guy in belgium... put the NT together and drove it up the drive to haul the garbage up... and the rear window failed me... I moved everything back to my J10... and sold the cherokee... but if you can get the window to work properly it's a lovely rig... safe, sturdy and comfortable, you'll find NO better vehicle for visibility!!! Panascopic vision is what Brooke Stevens called it... absolutely brilliant... folks that have ridden in my FSJs say it's like sitting on your couch watching the world go by... if you could stuff an OM617 in that thing with a good 5 speed and keep it 4x4... oh baby, you'd have a nice ride that got decent economy and would be unstoppable!!! john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -o|||||o- Linux: the choice of a GNU generation http://WAGONEERS.COM Snohomish, WA- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ...shop AMSOIL directly at: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education" Theodore Roosevelt (26th President (1901-09), 1858-1919) RTM: TRSTGZS - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Tue, 24 Jul 2012, Stephen Rigley wrote: # Hey John, # # Tell me about these :-) # # Thanks, # Steve # # ---------- Forwarded message ---------- # From: Frank Smyth # Date: Tue, Jul 24, 2012 at 11:29 PM # Subject: You're welcome ;-) # To: "srigley # # # http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/vintagecars/3448323 # # ------------------------------ # # About Microsoft Ireland: www.microsoft.com/ireland # Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited.
