The AMC V-8's thrust bearing is #3. #3 is exactly the same between the
two. The 401's #2 & #4 main bearing widths are the furthest off by 20
thousands. I think it'll work no problem. You'll have to use 401/390 rods,
the corresponding flex plate & damper and custom pistons, though.
