There is a noticeable difference when you drive one too. It's not just in the numbers. :) BTW, I've found that the 258's have almost as much get up and go as the V8's. I've also found that the newer 4.0L's are really awesome and durable. I've got one in my 88 xj wagoneer that has over 198,000 miles on it! And going strong... and with 4.10 gears, a high flow cat, flowmaster and Amsoil air filter and oil, it can beat a 5.0L Mustang! (going up a steep hill and only to the speed limit... and then it's not like I was running away from him...)
