ok, 1984 V-8 360 (5.9L) borexstroke = 3.88x3.19 compression ratio 8.25:1
		Net Horsepower: 129 hp @ 3,700 rpm
	     	Net Torque: 245 ft-lbs @ 1,600 rpm

FWIW, the I-6 258 (4.2L) bxs 3.75 x 3.90 in compression ratio 9.2:1
		Net Horsepower: 115 hp @ 3,200 rpm
		Net Torque: 210 ft-lbs @ 1,800 rpm

Early years might have provided those kinds of numbers, but trying to obtain
fuel economy, and or different measurement techniques only get you what is shown. :)

In 1975 the 2v V8 had 175 hp @ 4,000 rpm, with 285 ft-lbs @ 2,900 rpm.

There is a noticeable difference when you drive one too. It's not just in
the numbers. :)

BTW, I've found that the 258's have almost as much get up and go as the V8's.
I've also found that the newer 4.0L's are really awesome and durable. I've got
one in my 88 xj wagoneer that has over 198,000 miles on it! And going strong... and
with 4.10 gears, a high flow cat, flowmaster and Amsoil air filter and oil, it can
beat a 5.0L Mustang! (going up a steep hill and only to the speed limit... and then
it's not like I was running away from him...) Fuel injection is an awesome thing. :)

ttyl,
john
