My hard drive is a total loss... I need to run down to Seattle to pick up a replacement. In the meantime, I've lost all email addresses... so if you were expecting a response on something (there were at least a couple irons in the fire...) that's why you haven't heard from me... FWIW: Evans Creek run this Saturday. Stock rigs will make it. Larger tires are preferred. I'll lead the pack up there, run the 198 and depending on what's going on and whether my family comes I may head up to Chinook Pass to do some hiking. :) Both are great places. Email me that you're coming and provide a way of contacting you. I'll make copies of the map. While I sympathize, know that I've had several hard drives fail on Macintosh computers in the past, BUT I've always been able to recover everything, except , of course, QuarkXPress files. Perhaps it found out something that Mercedes will learn. It is easier to keep a customer than to get a customer. The maybe fictional Horst Becker has made many inroads insofar as the complaints on the usenet group goes. It is a bit of a pain to get at it. It's been a while since I've had to get at it, so I can't remember the specifics of how to get behind the console. I do remember that if you remove the switches at the top of the console that you will reveal two screws that hold the console in. There are probably other screws, so be careful. I'll take a peek in my W123 chassis book for you. I also have the electrical guide for my '82 240D, which should show that light source somewhere.
