Clear plastic tubing does not make good vacuum line. :) My 300D didn't want to shift, had to coax it manually... not a good thing. Stopped at the Jeep dealer and bought a roll of 5/32" vacuum/ windshield washer line and replaced all the rubber parts. (The benz dealer said 3.5 to 4mm ID would work...) Anyways, Fritz is shifting again, but still not shutting off all the way... Seems to me I remember a brown plastic line going nowhere under the dash... :) The other end goes to the fuel cutoff gizmo. :) Gotta finish the fuel injector 0-ring replacement on the little wagoneer, don't know if I'll have time to tear into the dash of Fritz yet. aT least the door locks work now, trunk included... Making progress... :) john - ---------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com Jesus - don't leave life without him... http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john - --------------------------------------------------- Mercedes Benz Diesels, FullSizeJeeps and xj's... found on http://www.digest.net and http://www.wagoneers.com - ---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Nov 1998 14:09:59 -0800 From: "Meister, John" Subject: re:vacuum woes I noticed that there is strong vacuum on one side of the ignition switch, but it doesn't seem to be as strong on the other. Clogged or restricted by design? When I pulled the hose off the other side and shut the car off it did NOT stop until I connected it back up. So I guess it works... BTW, Snohomish is about 25 to 30 miles Northeast of Seattle. ======================================================= john meister sr CAD sys admin, Intermec meister-at-intermec.com (425) 356.1663 http://www.intermec.com ( http://www.wagoneers.com/ john-at-wagoneers.com ) ======================================================= ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #41 ********************************
