Fritz (my 81 300D) got his new windshield Wednesday. Next he's gonna get his vacuum system checked out soon as I go to NAPA and pickup the tester. Then Tuesday he's gonna get IPF replacement headlights from ARB. They cost more than Hellas, but have a much higher quality lens and reflector. I'll be writing an article on them and putting them up on my site (http://www.wagoneers.com). Hope you all had a great Christmas... later, john - ---------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com http://www.wagoneers.com Jeeps don't rust in Snohomish, WA, they mold... ------------ http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john/saved.html Jesus - don't leave life without him... - ---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Dec 1998 01:57:52 +0100 From: "Pieter Noorlander" Subject: Fuel light? Hi, John, sorry about the HTML text, i will better my life. I am located in a small town called Wijk bij Duurstede, near Utrecht in the centre of the Netherlands, and btw I never went to the Keukenhof ;-) I assume you are referring more to the size of my country than to the fuel consumption of these Benzes... The VW Golf (I think it is called Rabbit in your country) went about twice as far on the same amount of diesel. But that is no problem at all, cause the Benz gives me far more than twice the pleasure! Today I found out that the little light that indicates that the fuel reserve is reached does not come up. Yes I was out of diesel, stupid me. Luckily we have something called "WegenWacht" (RoadService) down here and I am a member, so a very kind mechanic, who has probably helped thousands of fools like me in his career, had me back on the road again in a zippy. My question: Is this easily fixed? The light does come up before igniting the engine and the rest of the fuel gauge seems to be working fine as well. Thanks, Pieter ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #61 ********************************
