I like their catalog and the first opportunity I have to buy from them I will. But I have a small automotive type business and can buy many auto parts cheaper than my local NAPA dealer... :) I get a good price break on parts from both the Jeep and Benz dealers, as well as the GM and Ford dealers, and a major parts distributer in the seattle area. If you're not in a hurry and want to see if I can save you some bucks email me off list and I'll check on it for you. It's just hard for me to get parts distributed because of the day job... I support over 70 UNIX Engineering workstations and tend to get very busy during normal working hours... :) Saturdays is the day I can run down to seattle and chase Benz parts. :) At 01:06 PM 1/8/99 -0600, TDGordon wrote: >> IMPCO's filter is $22.64 (haven't even asked the dealer. :) >John, that air filter price is beat by my dealer. Dave was right, it has a torn diagraphm. Thanx! Btw, didn't realize you were the one that suggested that when I was talking to you today. :) Made the connection when I was reading the email instructions outside tonight... Guess I'm gonna stick with the Marine 15w40, next purchase will be the 2.5 Gallon jugs. :) Have a bunch of quart bottles empty now. :) working in the dark and rain is not fun. I was working on both the little wagoneer and Fritz... Fritz has a new oil filter and I disconnected the left rear door lock to see if the vacuum system behaves better... so far it still takes a while to shut off. Still don't have the vacuum kit in from Napa... I wonder if they forgot to call me or what... I tell ya what I hate replacing theromstats in 4.0L Jeeps... arghhh... what a pain. Have to resume tomorrow in daylight... ttyl, john - ----------------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com http://www.wagoneers.com http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john jesus, don't leave life without him, please! GTS clear. since it was raining out and I had just washed Fritz they're foggy on the inside now... :) look pretty good, what I like is the protection for the IPF lights and the stock Bosch fog lights. I've got a few rock chips on the plastic and already lost one headlight... (that's what started the sequence of events leading up to the replacement headlights... :) john ************************************************************** Pursuant to US Code, Title 47, Chapter 5, Subchapter II, =A7227, any and all unsolicited commercial E-mail sent to this address is subject to a download and archival fee in the amount of $500 US. And indeed, the coolant level was too low. I know there is some stuff on the market that you can pour in the radiator to stop / prevent leaking. Is it advisable to use a product like this? I don't know what it does to the rest of the cooling system. Also, what is the normal running temperature for these 300D's? Mine is appr. 90 deg C at 60 mph and 100 deg at 75 mph, maybe a bit on the high side in mild winter weather? Thanx for any input! My mechanic friend suggested Alumaseal. $1.89. It's working so far, been over a month now. Shouldn't be a problem. john At 09:53 PM 1/10/99 +0100, Pieter Noorlander wrote: >When I gave Herman (83 300TD) his weekly maintenance I discovered some fluid >on the front of the radiator.
