Is there such a thing as a "superior" coolant/antifreeze, or are they equalized by the user's concentration of Prestone to water? tia - matt _____________________________ Matthew J. They do not contain silicates, which will prolong the life of the water pump rubber seals. If anyone on this list has a water cooled motorcycle and has the green coolant in it, they really should consider going to the long life coolants, because especially on Gold Wings, the silicates destroy the coolant pump seals very quickly. I went in to Bob Lamphers Beaverton Honda/Yamaha this summer to buy a new air filter for my '83 Honda Gold Wing, and I asked what the price was for a K&N supercharger filter for the bike. I was told the price, but they told me they didn't have any in stock, and wouldn't for some time. I asked how much the paper air filter was, the Honda brand. It was the same price! Go figure. Just a little story to let you know that for the same price, I could have had a permanent filter, with better performance, for the same price, and in my haste, bought the paper. Next time. I'll wait for the truck to deliver a shipment to the shop so I can get what I wanted in the first place. I ran a K&N on my KZ-400. wow. what a radical change. If it's the oil-wetted gauze I would see if you can get an amsoil version, or a K&N that's oil wetted foam. john At 09:36 PM 1/10/99 PDT, Daniel A Jacobs wrote: >You know what's funny? Thanks for any input... btw, the shocks can be found on p.7 of the Impco catalog. best, -- mjm _____________________________ Matthew J. I am looking for a just a little tighter steering response after adjusting the steering box and getting a front end alignment. I do not want to sacrifice the Mercedes feel of the car. If you put lower aspect ratio tires on, you will feel the bumps more than you will with the original setup, which also means that there will be more wear and tear on ,amy components of the car. I ask myself two questions before I chagne the rims/tires: 1: Do I really drive hard enough that I need to put a bettter handling package of rims/tires/shocks/springs/etc. and shell out the money when original is good enough? 2: Is the car in good enough shape to shell out the extra bucks? (e.g.: mirror polished chrome or aluminum wheels on a rusty rocket) That what I do, and I've found that the germans do a pretty good job of setting their cars up to be _driven_ right from the factory. I also believe that a very good driver is more important than speed/handling/looks. just ask a state trooper about how many porsches and mustang GT's he/she has run down in a 5000 pound patrol car.
