None of this stuff sounds hard, and the Benz are very easy to work on (compared to American or japanese iron...). If you can snag a shop manual it'll help. However, I dislike the manuals becuase they are disjointed and not easy to follow... (thinking especially of the vacuum system.) if you have other wheels, a clean place to work and time... go for it. If you'd rather do something else... do it and pay the hired wrench. :) john At 09:01 AM 3/2/99 -0600, Alec Cordova wrote: >OK. I believe I have it fixed now and I'll be able to recover "her" mercedes... :) funny how she always wants the vehicle that works. :) Sure was nice driving fritz to church today after a week in the 88 xj wagoneer with 190,065 miles on it... ;) My back is still bothering me... why is it that american cars have such terrible seats? Y'all have been pretty quiet... I think I should probably go out and wash my rigs... could be the last sunny day for a few more weeks... We've had our annual rainfall in only the last three months up here... nasty weather... even for SEattle... :) later, john ------------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com - http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john http://www.wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps and Diesel Benz' don't rust, they mold... ------------------------------------------------- http://www.digest.net/diesel-benz/ (81 300D) ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #102 *********************************
