Last weekend while I was doing a (late) spring de-gunking, I found some oil near the passenger's rear control arm. Monday I put the car up and checked out the differential oil, I know there is a small leak from the pinion seal. Hoped it just got worse and gear oil was being spun out, but no luck. Car is an '85 300TD, 123 chassis with auto-leveling rear suspesion. I think I'm going to be in for a new strut eventually, and IMPCO wants $280 for one. Are there any other sources that you all know of? I'm hoping there is. As another option, I've got a lead on a strictly parts-grade 300TD I could get. I just don't really have the time to do an old-fashioned stripping right now, presuming I could convince my wife ;^0 Thanks- Tony Wirtel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 May 1999 22:10:38 -0700 From: john Subject: meltdown... I think I'm loosing a hard drive again... eudora did a meltdown tonight... If you said something on the list and I haven't responded it's because my copies of email and the digests were corrupted. I think I'm gonna switch to my Linux or Solaris system... I've had enough of microsoft systems to last me for a while... :) john - ----------------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com http://www.wagoneers.com http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john 78 WAGONEER - 81 300D - 88 wagoneer jesus, don't leave life without him, please! Paul, Sounds great, thanx for the info on the August Pacific NW 4x4 association thing at Snohomish Airport! I'm gonna make this one and finally get around to renewing my PNW4WDA membership. :) So Saturday, June 5, 1999 fsj-xj/jeep fest Snohomish... Guess we'll meet up here at my house on SR 9, and then make a trip into town to check out the classic car shop and Olympic 4x4 and probably do the Alfy's Pizza routine. Of course we'll do the photographs of all the Jeeps together, swap parts and stories. It's not the most exciting event you could attend if you're not a jeep nut, but hey, it's good clean fun and everyone that's ever been has enjoyed it. :) If you bring a spouse or friend who's not a jeep nut, just tell 'em Snohomish has lots of antique stores... :) john >Sounds like a plan... maybe I can even make this one. :) >>Along that same 'get together in Snohomish' vein... > >The Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association's (PNW4WDA) Region 1 will be >having it's second annual "Show 'N' Shine" in Snohomish on August 7th & 8th. >The location is adjacent to the Harvey Field airstrip in the big grass field >near the corner of Marsh Road and State Hwy 9.
