You'll want to raise the car off the wheels by the frame, but also support the axles. I'd also recommend using a Synththetic Oil in the engine during storage. john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com **** Snohomish, Washington USA don't leave life without jesus, please... http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john http://wagoneers.com - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jun 1999 09:23:30 -0700 From: john Subject: Pyro-Putty 2400 the June 99 issue of Popular Mechanics, pg 59, has a little blurb on a product called Pyro-Putty 2400. They say it's a new ceramic-metallic sealant and metal repair compound that resists temperatures to 2000 deg. F. "The water-based single-component system repairs cast-iron, steel and stainless steel manifolds, headers, pipes and mufflers, sealing cracks and holes up to 3/8" wide. The putty cures at room temperature and is machinable and paintable. A 16-ounce can of the stuff costs $24.95 from Aremco Products, PO Box 429, Ossining, NY 10562; ph 914-762-0685" Anyone heard of this or tried it? I'm thinking this would be a lot easier to do than replacing the header that has a small crack in it... john - ----------------------------------------------------- john-at-virtual-cafe.com http://www.wagoneers.com http://www.virtual-cafe.com/~john 77 Wagoneer (SJ) - 81 MB 300D (123) - 88 wagoneer (xj) jesus, don't leave life without him, please!
