I'll start looking this fall... who knows, maybe I'll find a nice 300SD that the wife will be willing to let go of "her" jeep for (the little wagoneer). I ain't getting rid of my 83 J10 Stepside... absolutely love it. But, hey, I gotta have a Diesel, or I ain't "dieseljohn"... :) john > >Dave Masinick Hopkinton, NH >'82 300D MBCA > >John lamented: >> I wish I had a 95 E300. :) I had an 81 300D, liked it a lot, but >> not as much as my 83 J10 Stepside. Just got home... the little wagoneer just rolled over to 200,000 miles! Original engine, original transmission, original transfer case... Lots of life left in it too. Just had the rear main seal replaced. Not using oil and was hauling around over a ton of dirt in my trailer yesterday (1.5 yards of freshly made topsoil...) AMC did a good job on their 6 cylinder engines, that's all I can say. Too bad the rest of the vehicles don't always hold up as well as the 6 cylinders do. :) The only other rigs I know that will top the 200k mark without problems are Diesel Benz. :) An interesting moment on the highway of life... (no plans on replacing it either, it's the primary family rig... Superdawg (83 J10, 258, 5speed) is a young pup in comparison with only 132,000 miles. ;) The little wagoneer is an 88 Jeep Wagoneer Limited, 4.0L, Aisin Warner 4speed auto, New Process 242 (selectrac). I've had it since 96 with 160,000 miles. Third owner. Previous owners also kept it on Synthetics from what I can tell by the paperwork they passed along... :) john ============================================================= The just shall live by Faith...
