Bellingham to Snohomish... I need a temporary pilot to bring my FSJ from Bellingham to Snohomish. My 77 Wagoneer is sitting up there and needs to come home. I'm busy on the weekends and know my wife isn't interested in an adventure that brings home another jeep... rofl... The guy that acquired it is going to trade it back to me for a computer but can't find the time to go up there and bring it back. He was going through a divorce when he bought it, but reconciled with his wife and has his priorities now with his wife and kids, so I can't really complain about the fact that he hasn't gone up to get it. He's promised me a number of times over the last month or so that he was gonna get it. He finally confessed he just can't find the time... arghh. But hey, he's spending time with his kids and wife, and that is far more important at this point. It drove up there fine, and should make it back without problems. It has a new carb, fresh tuneup and a new windshield. I'll cover the cost of fuel, and get a temporary tag for it. Paul, Alan? anyone up in Bellingham? :) Not a rush project. What might work is if we meet in Snohomish and I'll drive up with you and follow you back. That way if something happens we can tow it off I-5 and leave it for a later time. I'd like to do it after work some evening if possible... This could be your opportunity to test drive one of the top 10 of the best cars in history! Experience "Panascopic vision" first hand. :) let me know. john - ------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/johnsjeeps.jpg SuperDawg, SuperPup (the little wagoneer), and the J3000 ...don't leave life without Jesus, please! Please change list so that you can only >send mail if you're subscribed to the list. that should eliminate >the spam from making it to the list. > the list IS setup so non-subscribers can't submit to it. not exactly sure how the spammers get through... maybe they dummy up a return address based on a valid list member.... hmmm... Anyway, I get bounced email all day long from the lists, very few get through. When you get spam, search the header for ALL the addresses (except of course your isp and digest.net related) and forward the entire message and header to abuse-at-, and postmater-at- those addresses, even the ip addresses. Supposedly these isp's shut down these accounts, and a few domains have replied saying they've fixed their security. (It's a sendmail thing... any UNIX admin could send email to you from anyone they want... if they can find a system that isn't secured properly. :) In fact, they taught us how to do it in a recent class. The point was to make sure your server was setup to prevent it. john - ------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/johnsjeeps.jpg SuperDawg, SuperPup (the little wagoneer), and the J3000 ...don't leave life without Jesus, please! I wouldn't be fast, and I may not even be the cheapest. But I may be able to locate parts unavailable elsewhere... I'm thinking primarily for the older rigs... primarily FSJ jeep parts, and XJ parts internationally. The Benz parts are plentiful through a number of sources, some sell cheaper than I can buy wholesale! :) But there are three used parts source for Benz in the area... and I may provide a service there. Anyway, I find myself answering a lot of email with guys looking for parts. I reply telling them of a few places I know... and I get nothing for my effort (except their appreciation, which, in the grand scheme of things is truly worth more than any profit I might make. :) What got me thinking about this is my costco renewal form... they offer a discount credit card transaction service! That and I'm getting a handle on Perl scripting, so I can secure my server for credit card transactions... The biggest problem is going to be finding the time to ship the parts, which means I'm not going to be the speediest service in the world... but hey, if you're looking for fenders for a mid-70's Wagoneer... it may be worth the wait. rofl... Let me know what you think. I figure you folks would let me know if the idea stinks right off the bat. ;) I know I've shipped a few parts to some of you over the years. (like transmissions, transfer cases, roof racks, xj parts, and so on... ;) I guess I'm getting tired of telling people where to go... ;) ...so I might as well activate the Dot-com in Wagoneers.com. :) thanx. john - ------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/johnsjeeps.jpg SuperDawg, SuperPup (the little wagoneer), and the J3000 ...don't leave life without Jesus, please!
