I scanned in the latest data sheet from amsoil on the synthetic ATF, it says it's formulated to meet or exceed peformance specs for Chrysler ATF+ THROUGH ATF +4. What the dino oil version of ATF +3 is is unknown to me... but the Synthetic stuff is completely compatible. Someone mentioned something that a tranny shop said about swelling seals if you used ATF +3 in older trannies... maybe that's so, don't know (but I doubt it), but I do know that the amsoil synthetic will work in all applications, so says the specification sheet... http://www.wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/ATF/ http://www.wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/ATF/ATF-plus-1-of-2.JPG http://www.wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/ATF/ATF-plus-2-of-2.JPG ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- john-at-wagoneers.com **** http://wagoneers.com don't leave life without Jesus, please... So we're starting that old "Getting to know you" routine with our recently acquired W202 95 C280 (not the "sport" model). This is my wife's car, replacing a 97 BMW Z3 1.9 that she DROVE. The Z3 often had to work to keep up with her driving. Obviously, she is having to readjust a little. Her biggest complaint is the brakes. From what little time I've spent in the C, the brakes feel reasonably normal. She is accustomed to the outstanding brakes on the Z3. Keeping an eye on the budget, what can we do to improve the brakes, or at least their "feel"? Thanks, Alec Cordova Taylor, Texas 95 C280 89 300CE 85 300DT ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Nov 2000 10:13:10 -0800 From: john Subject: Re: How can I improve the brakes on a W202 C280? ventilated rotors might help... I've seen 'em in a few catalogs for a variety of rigs. It'll help reduce fading, if that's what is going on... it already has 4wd discs... (on one of my jeeps I did the 4 wheel disc conversion, it helped...) There is one other thing you can try, and that is to increase the power booster... In the Jeep world there are two ways of doing it. Using the PowerBooster from a heavier vehicle, or a newer one, or using a Hydroboost setup from a GM Diesel. I don't think the hydraboost is a good option on a benz though... :) john At 07:13 AM 11/7/00 -0800, Alec.Cordova-at-quintus.com wrote: >So we're starting that old "Getting to know you" routine with our recently >acquired W202 95 C280 (not the "sport" model). It's got 180000 miles on it although is in excellent condition considering the mileage that has been put on the car. Their asking price is about $2000 below book value. Anyone have thoughts on this car? I would have bought the thing already had the high mileage not scared me off. Thanks!
