I have sold a truck of mine for a charity event, and the buyer is in Southern CA. I need the easiest, most convenient way to get the truck down there, that does not cost a fortune. Renting one of those two-wheel dollies,a s some suggested, will not work very well with this vehicle, I suspect, as it rides so low that I think there would be a LOT of scraping of the rear (or front, depending upon orientation I mounted it on the dolly) on the road at every bump. One way charges on these can sometimes be a bit excessive as well. Thus, the complete car trailer also is expensive for a one-way rental, and also adds considerably weight-sometimes they will not rent if you are simply driving a pick-up truck (towing weights and stuff). Thus, I was planning to drive the truck down, tow the 300D, and just drive it back. Otherwise I have to drive the truck and then have a plane ticket to get me home, which could cost as much as one of the trailers. So, that is why I asked-it is not some deep seated desire to do this in the oldest, most "unstable" manor possible! - --- J. Michael Shaw, II ... I've never seen anything like this one before. It looks like he's got a 5.0L V8 in there, among.. other things :) The site's in german, but there are 6 thumbnailed pictures that you can look at. http://www.lowridermagazin.de/mercedes/w123/ ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #436 *********************************
