I found the best place to install a CD changer is in the trunk -- but not on the floor of the trunk, but hanging from the bottom of the rear deck. Because the 1st Aid Kit housing hangs below (and I know W126's have a equal sized storage compartment on the other side) you may have to hang it in the middle. I always was very happy with that, it never skipped, didn't take up any trunk room, and looked cool too. :) Mike M. Car got so mad locks didn't work for 4 days. then all started working again. Today all is fine. I have a question. I know nobody will sell me European Headlights. I'm almost ready to give up on locating a set. On the taillights on my U.S. Spec. car there is a hole for a bulb closest to the license plate or toward center if that makes sense. In a REAL country what are those bulb holders for? I know we don't need them here in Commifornia 'cause I never see any in the junk yards with a bulb in this position. I was hoping someone on the list had a REAL Mercedes and could tell me what these are. I looked for a year for a Grey Market car before I bought this one. I only got it because the engine is new. I have the $4700 in receipts. $2400 for the whole car the try and recoup some of the shops money 'cause the customer didn't have the 47 hundred so relinquished the title instead. Personally, I kind of like the look of the US headlights on a W123. I don't think I'm alone, since many of us were quite happy when they finally returned to the 4-headlight look. Granted, the lighting pattern of the US lights stinks, but that's nothing some Hella or Cibie motorcycle lights won't fix as a drop-in upgrade. ;-) As to the extra bulb position in the taillights, that's for a rear foglight. Required in many countries other than the US; some demand it be on the left, others expect it on the right, don't think anybody demands a pair. Notice how your headlight switch will pull out one notch for your front fogs, but it can also pull out a second notch? And that silly little orange dot in the center of the switch? That would be how you turn on the rear fog light, and how the car reminds you that it is illuminated.
