I suppose I can back out and probably will if... if I can't find a nice Wide Track 80 to 83 Cherokee somewhere within a day or two drive of Seattle. I'd like a Laredo with all the bells and whistles if one could be found. My J10 is a wonderful FSJ, but the offer is more than I can resist. :) So I'm shopping fast and furious for a Cherokee... Let me know if you know of any. I've got a month or too... I think he's planning on coming out in April, maybe sooner... It would be awesome if I could find a nice clean Wide Track with a/c, automatic and the six cylinder... thanx, john - ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 03 Feb 2001 19:44:46 -0800 From: john Subject: tweaking the pump I've noticed a slight drop in performance with the new injectors. It could be all the fuel treatment I dumped in the tank trying to get things cleaned up... and then I found that one of the return lines had worked loose... ;) I'm about ready to fill up again, the filter looks good, it's running well... so... I guess I should see how it performs with untreated fuel. But, on one of my Diesels when I got it it smoked like crazy, failed emissions in a major way... but man, in spite of it being a 240D, it hauled backside... So, what I'm thinking is that I might try turning up the pump just a wee bit on my '83 300SD to see if I can improve it's performance back to where it was before I swapped injectors. Any caveats, words of advice... pointers on which screw to turn? ;) I found the one on the '75 240D with only a little trouble, the pumps actually look similar... later, john - ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 03 Feb 2001 20:10:34 -0800 From: john Subject: fuel costs it looks like prices are coming down, but not all over... Everett, WA area: regular: 1.44 - 1.59 + Diesel: 1.61 - 1.79 also, what's the price you pay for Electricity in your area? how much per kilowatt hour? thanx, john - ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 Feb 2001 09:14:06 +0800 From: pgutierrez-at-adb.org Subject: Re:Brakes on 300D I'm having a problem with the brakes on my 79 300D (Euro) and would welcome any advice. The problem is, when I apply the brakes initially, everything is normal. But when I suddenly release the brakes and reapply them, they seem to get weaker and I need to put extra effort on the pedal. Re-applying a third time seems like there is no brake boost at all. Engine shut off is normal; I have manual doorlocks and AC system.
