It's hard to make the transition, but with a little help from my friends I think I'll make it. ;) I actually turned down information on where I could find a large storage container today. I turned down a $500 Grand Wagoneer the other day too... :) I'm on the road to recovery my friends... :) So, I've gathered up the first batch of pictures for ebay. Pictures are at: http://wagoneers.com/ebay http://www.wagoneers.com/ebay/01-june-03/ (look for the ALL-ebay... image) It's going to take some time to get the ebay ads setup, if you see something you want email me off list right away. I've limited the parts to items that are mailable. A few of the pieces will be a pain to ship, like the console and spoiler... Will try to get pictures of the rest of the stuff tomorrow, er, later today. :) btw, you can search ebay for my stuff once I get it up there, handle is dieseljohn john - ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Jun 2001 19:53:13 -0500 From: Matthew J Mason Subject: pencil-type (2nd half 1980 and up) glow plugs on eBay Hi all: Cleaning out my toolbox today, found a pair of never-used plugs. I normally used Bosch when I had the car, but had these around as a backup. TIA for checking them out. - -- Matt Mason Former DB driver, lurking DB lister Title of item: 2 Champion 168 CH68 diesel glow plugs, w/nuts Your item number is: 592026751 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5920267 51 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Jun 2001 21:19:39 -0700 From: " " Subject: Starter not working-ideas? Well, a few days ago, after driving my car to its location, I went to start it after it had been sitting about two hours, and it wouldn't start at all. Not even any real clicking noises or anything. I tried jumping it, jiggling battery cables, reattaching after cleaning battery cables, etc. Still nothing. I finally got underneath and disconnected the leads to the starter, cleaned the posts, and then reattached. I also jiggled a few wires to the generator/alternator (not even sure what this one has!). I then was able to start it. Drove it fine for a few days, but last night the same thing happened, only this time, I could not get it restarted by jiggling the gen/alt wires, nor by cleaning/reattaching the starter wires. I ended up "shorting" it out with a piece of wire (not fun doing all of this in work clothes, car not jacked up, in a parking lot in downtown San Fran, with lots of people pulling in and out! Got home, tried to start it again-nothing. So, for now, to keep it road-worthy, I have connected a remote starter button to jump the terminals on the starter. However, I am wondering what comments anyone has on the problem. Ignition switch itself? Selenoid of the starter (do these come separately, or would this mean a whole new starter?)? One of those weird little things lime mentioned here last week-neutral safety switch? The car is a stock '72 250/8, auto tranny car. Any ideas on best way to trouble-shoot this to make sure I am getting to the right problem? Thanks! Email me off list if you have any questions or interests. Earlier in the year I got a bad load of fuel from Union 76 in Monroe that gave me the privilege of having my injector pump overhauled for about $500. I used "Hatch & Kirk" in Ballard. I like them - good outfit. Anyway, he gave me a bottle of this stuff and swore by it. Then the shop's manager did the same. I used it and now I'm hooked too. Granted, it's probably the same stuff that's in "Red Line" products (smells the same anyway), which is probably the same stuff in the bottle of goop that you gave me that I haven't used yet, but the fact is that it does the job! I bought the Stanadyne from Hatch & Kirk, and I noticed that Bryant Motors down in Renton sells it too. Bryant Motors is the local Blue Bird bus dealer, sells International trucks and parts and John Deere products. See ya later!
