Just forward of the hinge, you will see two slots in the sheet metal. The hook part fits over the top, and the "ribs" fit into the slots to hold it in place, (supposedly.) At the recent Chicago Listfest, Jan Guthrie showed how she had just had her hinge bushings replaced, as the hinges were flopping around. (Mine are sort of loose too.) The hinges pull off the bumpers if they rub too hard against them. I read in the Gospel according to Chilton, first line in the Diesel Fuel System part, that there is an electric pump in the rear, below the floor panel. The Holy Writ according to Haynes does not mention any electric pump, and none is visible in the parts-drawing of the fuel system. Which should I believe ?
