His name is Shawn. He is in a coma, left eye optical nerve severed, but no broken bones. He had just dropped off his little girl in Marysville (about 15 miles to the north) and was heading to his folks house in Woodinville/Bothell (about 8 miles further south). The best anyone can figure is that he fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the Dump Truck. Please pray for his recovery and for his family. The rescue workers out of Fire District 4 in Snohomish did a great job of extracting him and getting him on the chopper. later, john ============================================================= The just shall live by Faith... Talked to my son tonight and he said he wanted to sell the '67 Fairlane and the '83 Ranger Diesel and get a Mercedes Diesel. :) Anyone interested in trading said items for one each Benz Diesel? I asked him why. He said because he'd like to drive faster then 55 mph... :) So, any Mercedes up here in the Pacific NW that y'all know about? thanx, john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2002 07:56:23 -0500 From: Jim Hoffman Subject: Re: you won't believe this... Improper adjustment of the pump can damage the pump. If you increase the fuel rate too much you risk damaging the engine too. You'll smoke more, contaminate your oil and could even burn a hole in a piston. The little bit you might realize could be expensive. :) However, a minor tweaking of the pump to increase the fuel rate might improve performance, but could reduce your fuel efficiency. If you're interested in the best performance have your valves adjusted, timing chain replaced, pump timing set, injectors cleaned and the pump calibrated to specs. If the guy setting up the pump is good you could ask him to set it toward the high side and possibly bump the timing up a bit. Setting to "European" specs is a good way of getting more power out of a VW Diesel, not sure if it works the same on a Benz or not, haven't tried it. however I have owned a 240D that someone cranked up... it went like it's tail was on fire... and left about the same amount of smoke too.... :) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #794 *********************************
