It's a high pitched noise that occurs only when the car is idle (and shaking a lot more than usual) Any ideas? Turned out to be the chain tensioner - the tensioer operate on oil pressure, which is lower at idle. The other possibility is chain stretch. Very common problem, many cars in Europe have this rattle (mine has it, too). Could the low oil pressure have made the noise having something to do with the timing chain? Or was that the sound of engine parts falling apart due to lack of lubrication?
