This engine was used in the winnie lesharo and was also available in a lincoln mark 7 - the fox one that looked like a fox t-bird. Now I shouldn't be saying this, because it'll give john ideas of having some BMW diesel powered mustang (a fox body is a fox body, right?) or something else like that :) K - -- Kevin Pekarek Redwood City, CA (near San Francisco) and Los Osos, CA (near San Luis Obispo) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Dec 2002 15:35:12 -0800 From: john Subject: Re: BMW 524TD not likely, I looked into this motor and the cost of the replacement heads is frightening... this is not a good Diesel engine, I'd be way better off with a GM Targetmaster 5.7L. :) john At 03:33 PM 12/11/2002 -0800, Kevin Pekarek wrote: >On Wed, Dec 11, 2002 at 03:12:29PM -0800, john wrote: > > I haven't seen or heard anything about them... :) > > > > I think that there was someone else interested. > > These units had a few issues.... :) The cost of > > the heads was a big problem if I remember right. > >This engine was used in the winnie lesharo and was also available in a lincoln >mark 7 - the fox one that looked like a fox t-bird. > >Now I shouldn't be saying this, because it'll give john ideas of having some >BMW diesel powered mustang (a fox body is a fox body, right?) or something >else like that :) > >K > >-- >Kevin Pekarek >Redwood City, CA (near San Francisco) and >Los Osos, CA (near San Luis Obispo) - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Dec 2002 23:05:27 -0800 From: john Subject: the top ten for 2001 the top models stolen in 2001. I can see #5, maybe 6, and maybe 10, but come on... what would anyone want with the rest of 'em. ;) btw, was talking to a guy in Montreal the other day and I mentioned that was where my '99 WJ had been stolen from, but recovered at the border here in Washington and then I bought it at an auction here... anyway, he said a friend of his had his WJ stolen in less then an hour and a half. He parked it, put a steering wheel lock on it, had an alarm system, serial numbers etched (just like mine) and it was still gone in about an hour. They figure it was hauled off on a flatbed... it was recovered 4 months later in a container getting ready to be shipped out of Halifax or some place over there... of course his friend already had a new one, they only make you wait 90 days. ;) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/Filter_INFORMATION/air_filter-1.jpg http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/Filter_INFORMATION/air_filter-2.jpg SJ Jeeps: 360/401: TS-23 258: TS-12 retail $21.50 XJ Jeeps: 4.0L/2.5L('87 and up): TS-29 retail $29.95 WJ Jeeps: 4.7L: TS-104 retail $47.50 DieselBenz: typical S1118 or S1680 retail $32.50 or $39.85 http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL/ order 1-800-956-5695 cust# 283461 Snohomish, WA, where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... - ----------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Dec 2002 19:15:24 -0600 From: "Alec Cordova" Subject: I knew it was bound to catch up with me :-( The downside of having a car with various drinking problems: My 89 M103 300CE has an appetitie both for motor oil and transmission fluid. The other day, when topping up the oil, I accidentally added maybe 3 ounces of transmission fluid before I realized it was the wrong color and stopped. I had a family emergency and had to make a 200 mile trip, so I did not have time to change all the oil right away. Should I change it all now that I'm back home, or would it probably be okay to just wait another month until it's due? Maybe I should keep motor oil and tranny fluid on opposite sides of the trunk now.
