As a matter of fact, I am a Picksburger and I root for the black and gold. Cheer up, Jon. The Browns may be awful, but at least Cleveland's baseball team isn't a perennial loser. Oh wait.... the Indians... never mind. ;-> My wife loves her '83 300TD - quote, "I don't care if this is the last car I ever drive." To which I cheerfully responded, "Good, 'cause it may well be." Greetings, Just got around to reading my March 10th Autoweek and ran across something to share with other Diesel lovers! It was a short article on an inexpensive turbo diesel powered 4x4 that looks similar to a certain British 4x4. The vehicles name is "Cross Lander", sort of sounds similar to a British vehicle as well. I have included a couple links below, I am unfamiliar with the Romanian ARO that it is based on, will look into it when I get a chance. I am not sure what the final body styling will be as I have seen different pictures of it. The article from Autoweek in the magazine had one picture, the online version had another and the web site has similar variations! The design of the 190D seems somewhat refreshing compared to the 123/126 climate control. I do miss the extra room for the 123/126 series though, the extra width made it much more comfortable. I'm not that big but it seems tight to me. :) thanx for confirming that my system is working. :) john At 08:42 AM 3/13/2003 -0500, Eurowerks wrote: >Only fresh air and A/C from the center vents. Jim Startup up in Everett has been good to me. There is a AAA approved shop up in Everett but their attitude has slipped, won't recommend them again. There's another shop up here in Everett several local Benz owners use, need to stop in and chat with them. I've seen a number of MB's in their drive. For parts there's Rusty on the list, or for local stuff Benz Friends, Aurora Auto Wrecking and of course Phil Smart, they have a decent attitude there. Barrier over in Bellevue seems a bit snooty to me, the folks at Phil Smart whether in the parts, service or showroom seem very nice. The service guys have answered questions and loaned me tools in the parking lot! If you're going to take a rig to a dealer I wouldn't have a problem recommending them, although any dealer is going to be quite expensive. john >thx >kit > >-----Original Message----- >From: john [mailto:john-at-wagoneers.com] >Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2003 9:45 AM >To: Kit Redwine >Subject: RE: Looking for 300 TD wagon in Seattle > > >At 09:28 AM 3/13/2003 -0800, Kit Redwine wrote: > >hi john, > >just curious, what was the guy asking? > >around $3200 or so, but it had a number of issues, had >been in an accident... it was over in West Seattle, parked >on the main road going up the hill that overlooks Seattle... >might still be there... > > > >well, they ain't pretty once you get past the grill but they sure have a >lot > >of room. > >yeah, that would be nice right now, I'm using my Jeep and Jeep Grand >Cherokee >to haul Jeep parts and computers around... :) > >john > > >kit > > > >-----Original Message----- > >From: john [mailto:john-at-wagoneers.com] > >Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 10:20 PM > >To: Kit Redwine; 'diesel-benz-digest-at-digest.net' > >Subject: Re: Looking for 300 TD wagon in Seattle > > > > > >there was one for sale down in West Seattle... it was a few weeks back > >though...
