Make sense? #1 is similar to kerosene or jet fuel... Thicker is better... ;) more energy... ;) john At 07:29 PM 4/11/2003 -0500, Vernon Tuck wrote: >Actually, there's a large difference between diesel no. 1 and 2 although I >forget which is which. > >I've heard on pretty good authority the difference amounts to 53mpg and >42mpg in a VW diesel wabbit. > >Whichever is which, I've consistently gotten 42mpg on my wabbits but NEVER >better. > >This causes me to assume I've never seen "the good stuff". > >VT >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Robert Chase" >To: "Diesel Benz" >Sent: Friday, April 11, 2003 7:24 PM >Subject: diesel stuff > > > > ok, > > > > So I filled up at a truck stop.... I guess the area west of Orlando raises up a bit... to put things in perspective, in the picture linked below the elevation difference between where the picture was taken from and that tree with orange leafs in the background (by a creek) is greater then a hundred feet... ;) can't see the road off to the right, but my 190D barely makes it up it... when my 300D had injector problems it was really slow... I can bring the GPS over there one of these days and see how steep it is, but it's in the 30 to 40 degree slope range... Does anyone know if they've come up with a replacement for a simple mercury switch? You know the kind, like for underhood lights and stuff like that? They used to sell them at Radio Shack but I looked and didn't see any listed... I figure they outlawed them, after all they're having recalls of mercury thermometers... ;) Any idea on what I can use in it's place? I need to detect when something is moved from the horizontal to vertical position and there is only one surface involved... :( thanx, john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2003 17:31:24 -0400 From: Michael Frank Subject: 190 Steering Could one of the folks with a 190 do me a favor? The left side tie rod on my car has a distinct bend to it. Before I bring the car for an alignment, I'd like to know if I should replace that tie rod. If you could take a peek at your tie rod and let me know if it's straight or bent?
