Sometimes someone will sell a clock/tach portion of an instrument cluster. Just checked I do not see any listed at this time. I bought my last two clocks for under twenty dollars I just put the tachs away since both were for the 190e. Finally got the sunroof working... ordered the bridge and the cable... the parts guy was thinking that the bridge was bent and as an afterthought ordered the cable and clip... turns out the cable was bent just behind the bridge. Pulled the cable out, feed the new one in... reading the instructions from the manual I thought I'd have to pull the motor off, started to do that and noticed that the sleeve had moved a bit, moved it over and fed the cable right in. :) Was harder getting the sunroof cover back on then getting the cable in. :) Now, if I can just figure out why the a/c compressor doesn't kick in any more, sure it's a misconnection somewhere, then I'll just about have this thing set up. :) john - ----------------------------- Oh well, I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess -Red Green - ------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 2003 07:30:25 -0700 From: "Jeremy Bowne" Subject: RE: sunroof repaired! Good job :) Pretty soon I'll be doing sunroof repairs. Is it expensive to do all this stuff? Or should I just disassemble it all and screw around (with a hammer of course) until it works ;) Jeremy - -----Original Message----- From: owner-diesel-benz-at-digest.net [mailto:owner-diesel-benz-at-digest.net] On Behalf Of john Sent: Sunday, April 20, 2003 10:47 PM To: diesel-benz-at-digest.net Subject: sunroof repaired! And it's kind of nerve-racking to open the port in Seattle not knowing if it'll close again... if you catch my drift... ;) The bridge assembly has an articulating section with rollers and levers... cleaning the rails and lubing them isn't a bad idea. The cable was much easier then I figured it'd be. I'm happy my problem was easily solved. My close up vision still isn't the greatest after Lasik surgery... actually it's just that I have to learn how to use reading glasses. Before I'd take my (bifocal) glasses off for close up work. All I have is little half frame readers so it's really hard working on cars. :) Need to get a large set of readers so I can see stuff up close clearly. It's worth it though. 20/15 vision from the length of my arms out. ;) But hey, my wife's arms are too short too... and my pastor's and my old bosses... seems pretty common for us that are part of the over the hill gang... (i.e. 40+) I should have taken pictures... well, wait, I have the new bridge assembly that I'll be returning, can take pictures of that! john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 2003 15:34:28 -0700 From: john Subject: sunroof hardware pix http://wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/190D/Sunroof john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #979 *********************************
