That's why it takes me so long to finish projects. That's why I gave up the general repair - do it right and starve or cut corners to run the hours. It is only worth it if you can do it on your own. Then you end up with customers calling you at all hours, large $$$ trying to keep up with the latest changes/advances, no time for your own little projects, etc. I imagine when/if I retire, I will do something similar. 1990 and older - only because I have the software/repair manuals up until about 1990. Their cetane rating may be different, but neither station could probably tell you what it is. But, I don't know of any color differences between the two. I would suspect that the blue color is dark. If so, the higher flow rate you are experiencing at the truck stops is sending crud from your tank upline to the filter. Change it and monitor it's "color". One thing should be true. If the truck stop does any reasonable business, you shouldn't get any bad fuel. The fact that you are getting better mileage and more power tells me that the station's fuel has a higher cetane rating than the station you previously used. How big is the nozzle at the truck stop? Both of my VW's would accept the larger nozzle used at the truck stops, but my 240D and this 300SD won't. On second thought, my 240D wouldn't, but I haven't tried it with my SD...
