Plus, I never get cut off when I am driving it, which is quite a feat in the bay area :) > I haven't heard of any gotcha's for this body/engine. I'm not too sure if I should be worried about that - after all it has a TON of miles (around 300k), but who knows. I 'LOVE' to harass the 'rare' crowd. LOL Let's remember what made it 'rare' - no one wanted the thing to begin with. Superbird or 70 Coronet comes to mind. They may be desirable now but there were BRAND NEW versions, on dealers' lots - for years. The exception would be something that was made in limited numbers, on purpose. 86-89 Shelbys(the converted Chrysler products) are considered rare because of the limited runs(each car was numbered). Yes, they are 'rare' but I ended up with 6 different examples. You hear the 'make it nice and show it' crap but I bought the cars to use(abuse) and enjoy. There are at least 499 other examples that can be made into trailer queens. Rare? Maybe to you. If I can find/buy another example, It can't be that rare - - I don't make that much. ;) Waylon - -----Original Message----- From: Jim Hoffman [mailto:jslash-at-execpc.com] Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2003 1:00 PM To: diesel-benz-at-digest.net Subject: Re: what is rare? Is it what they bring with them in the back of the VW bus for fun?) that lobby the government in order to get them to pass enviromental laws. The corperations could care less and the government is essentially run by them. The government goes along with the tree hugger half baked ideas just to appease them and keep them from protesting in front of their homes. I wish these empty headed hippies would really recognize the source of most of the pollution and leave normal people alone. Perhaps they do and the government is just responding with something that will make people angry to assist in their "friends" plight to do things the cheapest way. I find it amazing that most of the empty headed hippies protest nuclear power like crazy when its the cheapest safest less polluting form of energy on the planet. Sure there were some bad accidents in the early days but why let them keep you from increasing the saftey of the plants. Although one must smile a bit because life is not without a bit of irony. The tree hugger hippies in California did not want power plants in thier back yards and protested them until they ran into the power chrisis there. When I worked for SGI our entire Mountainview Campus was hit almost daily with rolling blackouts because of its location and size. I would always chuckle when I tried to access a machine that was not responding and in California :) I bet a lot of the protesters out there thought twice about their activities when they recieved their power bills :).
