Correct again. 114 body through 1976. My '76 240D had the same PITA blower motor arrangement. Fortunately....if the car's got a/c, by turning on the air....on low....and then dialing the heater to "incinerate".....you can make the a/c blower push hot air. Been there. (AMHIK) Truth be told, it probably has the female part of it, but the male part may have gone AWOL over the years. Smoking was still highly socially acceptable in 1982, so I'm sure your car had one at one point in time. My 82 (ford) wagon has three (!) lighters in it. If it's in the same place as my 190D, check below the stereo for a pull out ash tray, it may be in there. > Dumb question, but if it's there, I can't find it! Oh hush, Kevin. As a non-militant reformed smoker, I see no harm in letting someone smoke in their own car, especially if it's a nice 123 diesel coupe that they should never get rid of anyway, so no one else will have to deal with their smoking. IIRC, lighter is to the left of the ashtray by maybe half an inch, both in one section under the radio. On 124s, the lighter is to the right of the ashtray. Wonder why they changed it? I'm a non-militant non-smoker who actually voted against the tax-the-smokers-to-the-hilt-because-we-can bills in calfornia. I kinda find it funny that friends of mine who smoke don't smoke in their car cause they don't like the lingering smoke smell. *shrug* But your right, he should never sell that 82 123. :) > IIRC, lighter is to the left of the ashtray by maybe half an inch, both in > one section under the radio. Obviously, since the 123 was used as a taxi that ash tray is closer to the (paying) passenger; in the 124 it's closer to the (owner) driver. Teutonic practicality my friend. In this picture: http://www.clearwater.com.au/gallery/merc300d/merc0005.jpg it's the wooden panel just below the stereo. Of course if I wanted a smoke in my MB, I'd just open the sunroof at a traffic light and let the beautiful smell of diesel fill my lungs. Ahhh, so smooth.... White 85 300CD with 180K and a leather interior, guy claims it runs perfect and that it is in very good condition. Wants $2100 obo cause he's moving away and needs to sell it. see http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/car/12006036.html for contact info. No rust but a minor dent in the left rear quarter. Too late now, all of its running gear and most of the interior trim is already gone. I could have sold the car for around $4-$5000.00, but it was worth more in parts than as a whole.
