I don't recall any attempts to conceal weapons--most vehicles were pickup trucks and all had gun racks in the rear window. Benewah County was particularly interesting as the poverty level was very high but the county to the north of that was (is) notorious for its gun toting racist rednecks like Mark Furman. I lived in the college town of the People's Republic of Moscow in rich wheat farming Latah County. Most of my high school buddies took the 300 mile trek to the west and are now ensconced in Seattle. Both Moscow and Idaho were mentioned in rock songs of the era: the B52's sang about "your own private Idaho" and Cassandra Complex had a song with the refrain being "Flying over, Moscow, Idaho, no life below." My original plan was to go back but now I can't--its like a time warp back to the 50's. Hue must have some balls to be able to police those people. While looking at the passenger compartment I was not sure to be horrified or amazed at the secret compartments in there. :) Robert. hue wong wrote: >Ho.. Guns in cars. What an ugly job being a cop is. Oh the stories I could tell... ( I got to live through the famous Haden Lake incident where the Natzi's wired up various local businesses and bridges in CDA with explosives on sunday morning. It was a wacky couple of days. I also grew up right down the street in Sandpoint, from Robert Eddy, the Secratary General of the Arian nations and had many face to face encounters with the "high court" (Buttler, richards, Eddy, Menscott) of the AN over the years. They were a dumb, mean ars lot! Those natzis, evil folk, but the were snappy dressers and they make a heck of a car. - --- Eric Ditwiler wrote: > I grew up there and recall it being lilly > white--except for the > distinctly red necks of many people. > I don't recall any attempts to conceal weapons--most > vehicles were > pickup trucks and all had gun racks in the rear > window. > > Benewah County was particularly interesting as the > poverty level was > very high but the county to the north of that was > (is) notorious for > its gun toting racist rednecks like Mark Furman. > > I lived in the college town of the People's Republic > of Moscow in rich > wheat farming Latah County. > > Most of my high school buddies took the 300 mile > trek to the west and > are now ensconced in Seattle. > > Both Moscow and Idaho were mentioned in rock songs > of the era: the > B52's sang about "your own private Idaho" and > Cassandra Complex had a > song with the refrain being "Flying over, Moscow, > Idaho, no life below." > > My original plan was to go back but now I can't--its > like a time warp > back to the 50's. > > Hue must have some balls to be able to police those > people. > > > > > On Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 09:20 AM, > acordova-at-texas.net wrote: > > > Wow!
