Im considering upgrading my 126 to the long body wheels and have chrome plated bundt cake wheels on my car now. I know my tires probably wont fit my new wheels when I decide to upgrade. My brothers 123 needs new tires and he can take my wheels and tires but the chrome finish really would not enhance the appearance of his car. Im wondering if the 240D wheel covers will fit over the wheels. The Chrome goes ok on the S class body because of the color scheme but Im not sure it will go so well on the 300D. I have brand new Michelens on the 300SD with less than 3k miles on them. So here are my questions. - -Will 126 tires fit a 123? - -Can you put 240D wheel covers over Bundt Cake wheels? - -What size tires does the SDL and SEL wear? FYI, no wheels came from the factory chromed, so if your bundts are chromed, they were either done after the fact, or are aftermarket wheels. > > Thanks in advance for your help. > > Robert Chase > > - -- Kaleb C. I reinstalled the voltage regulator, reinstalled the alternator, and started it up to park it for the night. Hmmm, battery light comes on when I turned the key -- that hasn't happened for a long time. Starts up. No funny dash lights, battery light goes out. What the..... Put the meter on it, 13.46 volts. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I'm calling it a night. I'm going to put a new voltage reg in and see what happens. If it gets chewed up, then I'll know for sure and start shopping for an alternator. Too bad it has a junk slip, not only does it drop the value of the car by over half, the dmv causes problems in california for vehicles with salvage titles - they tend to think the car needs a light and brake check when you register it, and they're a bit of a pain to get sometimes.
