They are still quiet, good ride when properly inflated, excellent on wet roads, and holding up to miles well, but dry handling, dry braking traction, and perceived sidewall lean are not up to what I was hoping for. But they are still half the price out the door of Michelins, much of which is the mounting/balancing/stems crap. Kumho has another model available now that I think is positioned above these 716 HP4s but below the full-performance (available no taller than 50-series) Ecsta lines. I may very well give them a try next time. Dunlop Sport A2's... will check 'em out... thanx buddy... I've not had good experiences with Dunlop before, but on your word I'll give them serious consideration... especially since my most recent experience with both Michelin and BFG have been less then wonderful... not that they aren't good tires, but they changed and don't have the same characteristics that I found good before... guess my old motto that everything is subject to change without notice is still valid... Here's a little tip...the amount of rubber on the ground is mostly a factor of air pressure, not tire size. If you have a wide tire, you get a short, wide patch. If you have a narrow tire, you get a long, narrow patch. Roughly the same surface area in both cases. My experience is that Michelins are bad on wet roads, although the Michelin Energy line is an exception. My WJ got noisier when I switched it to Michelin's, but the traction was so much better that I didn't mind... This benz is pretty quiet already, but there are stretches of pavement that get quite noisey. john At 10:58 AM 9/28/2003, Greg Fiorentino wrote: >At 07:11 AM 9/28/03 , Mike Frank wrote: >>Would I steer you wrong?
