The body is in great condition, it is a goldish color, and also features power windows, power locks, and cruise control. Very comfortable interior, with Minimum problems. It has one small tear in the drivers seat, and I believe that is it. It does have a problem with the engine at this time, and there is not enough hours in the day to try and find out what is going on. If someone is a mercedes person, this in the car for you. All it needs is some engine work, to be a great vehicle once again. Please contact Steve at 206-779-7350 for questions and comments. http://seattle.craigslist.org/car/18880839.html __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! I cut my hands a lot less this way. :) Started doing it when I worked in photolithography at Intel... we couldn't touch stuff for two reasons, one being the toxic chemicals and two the sodium from our hands contaminated the wafers. :) So I figured if I could adust optics to within a tenth of a micron wearing them I sure as heck could change the oil with them on. :) john Richard Welty wrote: >On Thu, 6 Nov 2003 12:07:45 -0800 Kevin Pekarek wrote: > > >>Don't have an old lady to worry about (or even a young one for that matter), >>but I'm sure how greasy I am after working on the cars will take a back burner >>to the fact that I use the spare bedroom to house car parts, have a gallon >>sized jug of fast orange in the bathroom, have never gotten around to hanging >>the pictures I framed on my walls (they're just leaning against the wall >>sitting on the floor), and that the fridge only ever has tartar sauce, lunch >>meat, mustard, and beer in it :) >> >> > >well, yeah, most of us married types remember being single. > >i'm interviewing for jobs right now. i have to wear examination gloves when >working on cars to make sure that my hands stay clean. it's aggravating >as hell. > >richard > > - -- - ------------------------------------------------------------------ john at http://wagoneers.com from Snohomish,WA- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... reminding you not to leave life w/o Jesus! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Nov 2003 20:50:49 -0800 From: john meister Subject: Re: [db] 1982 Mercedes Benz 300 SD - $600 (seattle) I'm going to look at this on Saturday... :) I know where I can find an engine... john hue wong wrote: >Just saw this on Craigslist, thought I'd repost here >to spread the joy.... > >--------------------------- > >1982 Mercedes Benz 300 SD - $600 > >This is a "82" Mercedes Benz, with a Turbo Diesel >engine. Living in Boulder, Colorado this is continually a problem. I picked one up (the kind that insert into the freeze plug). I tried and tried to get that freeze plug out, to no avail. I've got a pretty hefty Snap On bar on there, with a chunk of lead pipe to use as a cheater. I applied heat (via a propane torch) but still couldn't get it. I guess I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas for getting that bastard off, but also if all of this effort is worth it. Do those warmers make a significant difference? Drain the coolant and fill it with regular water and wait for a cold night. My brother's 300D has a block heater but living in Atlanta GA we have never used it. My 300SD does not have one but then again its has never been cold enough here to have starting problems. I m guessing you have already rebuilt your preglow system?
