Go a bit further up. The rear window gaskets on the W126's are notorious for leaking. If you look very carefully at the bottom corners, you'll probably see tiny "bubbles" in the paint next to the seal. There's rust under there. I have heard of people rubbing vaseline on the gasket to soften it up, but I don't know how well it works. The only "fix" I know of is replacing the window gasket. You'll probably have to correct the damage caused by the rust before you install the new gasket. I doubt the sunroof drains are contributing to your problem. Jon '84 300SD 170,??? mi. I've been getting water in my trunk and it is causing corrosion problems. I've run water from a hose all over the rear window with no leaks noticed. I think the rear sunroof drains are somehow allowing water to get into the trunk. Can anyone tell me how the drains are routed?
