It is indeed an 84 190D 2.2. It has 208K mils and looks pretty sound... Pics at: http://my.execpc.com/~jslash/190D/ I think it's even John's favorite color ;) I am a little dissappointed if it is truely non-turbo but neither is my 240D. How do the engines compare in size and output? Will the 190 be *any* quicker than that W123?! ;) The 190D is a W210 body? What should I look for in particular when I actually take it for a drive? I noticed a big *splash pan* under the engine. Couldn't even see the engine from underneath. My only concern is the rust hole in pic http://my.execpc.com/~jslash/190D/MB190D5.JPG What is the purpose of that *plug* in the rocker panel and is that rust something to be more concerned about than average rust on a 20 year old car? ;) Thanks guys! Looks like a nice car. If that is the only rust it has it should be easy to deal with or have it taken care of. A Co-worker did the work himself with a cutter, torch and a wire feed (and alot of grinding ;) ) His 190 is also a 84 2.2l. I like the color too. This is a non turbo. 84-85 I think are the best years for this car. (but I am slightly biased) The engine undercover is an EPA thing it also helps deaden noise and keeps the driveway clean in case of a small spill but I removed them from my 190. Nice looking car. I've owned what, six, seven? Never had rust on a single one... kind of scarey looking... I'd move if I were you... ;) (but not here please, roads are too crowded already, house prices are too high, no jobs... but otherwise it's great, NO RUST... ;) john > > A 190x 2.2 would likely be an 84 diesel with no turbo.
