I need to blow some carbon out of my VW and a trip down there is just the ticket. :) I just bought another VW engine and I am heading in that direction to pick it up anyhow. Let me know.... Uh oh. he's got the wabbit bug weal bad. :) Hey Derick, did you find a TDI engine to swap in? I was going to tear into the existing engine (rings bearings etc...) then I saw this gem just about ready to drop in. Now I can rebuild the other at leisure. I have been assured of good compression in this engine. Such a deal and local too. I am in the process of buying a home with 1.25 acres. US Army Fort Lewis is right on my property line. I heard them shooting the artillery while I was scoping it out. Noise is not going to bother me, just a light thumping sound from the report of the cannons. The neighbors have kindly fenced me in so I have privacy at their expense. ;) For the first time since I was on the farm in my youth I have space! This will take MUCH self control not to turn it into a car lot. My first purchase will be a car dolly or I am entertaining buying the tow truck down the road from my new place for about the same price as the dolly. ;) More than likely the first task will be mowing the lawn and removing debris. :( I would like to get a 1.6L turbo charged A1 style VW engine to drop into that little pickup, that would be sweet. However; 2 upgrades in one year will have to be my limit. ;) Later, Derick - -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Pekarek [mailto:kevin-at-mordred.punk.net] Sent: Friday, August 20, 2004 4:57 PM To: derick Cc: diesel-benz-at-digest.net Subject: Re: [db] Cheap SD in WA On Fri, Aug 20, 2004 at 04:26:46PM -0700, derick wrote: > I just bought another VW engine and I am heading in that direction to pick > it up anyhow. I have to go with the 6.2L Diesel in my J10 just to be able to pull this thing...
