Too much can cause foaming. Try siphoning some out of the transmission dipstick tube with a very clean hose. Seems like a lot of work/time/expense. I've been using Freeze 12 for years - $70.80 per case($5.90 per can). Your choice. http://lenzdist.com/mcart/index.cgi?ID=ANUS2M&task=show&cat=Refrigerants &pgidx=10 http://www.lenzdist.com/Prods.html Freeze-12: Freeze-12 from Johnsen's is an alternative refrigerant developed to replace R-12 in mobile air conditioning systems. Performance and efficiency of Freeze-12 are very similar to R-12. Freeze-12 is a non-flammable, EPA accepted refrigerant that contains no CFC's. Freeze-12 is the ideal replacement for older R-12 A/C sytems since it works with existing R-12 lubricant. Freeze-12 simply requires different fittings and labels which are available through Lenz. No system flushes or extensive training are necessary for the use of Freeze-12 In addition to ease of use and compatibility, Freeze-12 also costs less than R-12 and it's lighter than R-12 so you don't have to use as much. You'll only need 90% of Freeze-12 in your current R-12 system. Save now on Freeze-12, in 12 oz. cans or 30 lb. cylinders. Call Lenz today toll-free at 1-877-243-8103 or... If the 6.2L works in the '79 we can yard it out of the Golden Eagle or find another one. ;) If it doesn't work out, we continue on with the 4.0L in Superdawg... I had a few reservations about the big Diesel in Superdawg... noise, weight... vibration... this will allow us to see if they're a real issue... if they are, hey, I'll have a cool '79 Diesel Golden Eagle, if not, I'll have a cool '79 J10 Diesel and a nice '83 J10 Stepside Diesel. The 4.0L in Superdawg has a lot of merit.. still might happen... economy is the goal... my 4.0L's have gotten 16 to 17mpg in town and close to 20 on the highway... my 6.2 got 19-20 in town and a wee bit over on the highway. pretty close really... the 4.0L has advantages in that it's quieter and lighter and is Jeep. So, I'm driving the Jimmy down to Centralia on Saturday, then riding back up with Curtis to get the J10 Golden Eagle... :) If I like the Diesel in the '79, but don't want to go that way with Superdawg I may even move the hydraulics over to the '79 to make it a dump bed and then lighten the trailer for Superdawg... another crazy thought entered my mind... a stepside J10 trailer... I still have my original fenders... so I'd have a '79 J10 with a matching long bed trailer and an '83 J10 stepside with matching stepside trailer... but these are all crazy euphoric thoughts... I shouldn't talk to curtis during lunch time... ;) rofl... later, john On Tue, 24 Aug 2004, john wrote: >--> >-->http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/johns-79-J10-GoldenEagle/ >--> >-->good idea...
