How obnoxious is it to have to convert your standard guess to metric? And on top of that have ANOTHER set of tools around? Bah. Only thing worse than that is the XZN garbage, but I bet my calipers will prove it to be metric :) Yes, I am pretty darned uncivilized too. I've got like three or four sets of lights laying around... :) I've got the Marchalls from the FSJ, a set of J-01 combo lights, a set of the driving lights, and another set of massive wattage driving lights... I like the IPF foglights, but not with the goofy little driving light setup, go with the plain foglights. there are some new style fog lights out there... visit a shop and look around... :) I've had several set of Bosch fog lights that I've liked. The elcheapos at McParts or from JcWhitney are useless... get a good set... You'll be fine with Bosch, Hella, IPF or some of the other quality lights... oh yeah, piaa. you can use the factory wiring w/o trouble, they have a relay in the system! I really like the wiring harnesses and switches that come from IPF. john >--> >-->Marc in NC >--> >--> >-->john wrote: >--> >--> -->So, what do I buy to convert my 123 to H-4 lighting? >--> >--> >--> http://www.wagoneers.com/JEEPS/IPF/IPF-ROUND-H4/ >-->http://www.wagoneers.com/JEEPS/IPF/H4-lamps/All-the-pix.html >-->http://www.wagoneers.com/JEEPS/IPF/H4-lamps/H4.html >--> >-->(old page, some of the images are missing... :) >-->http://www.wagoneers.com/JEEPS/IPF/IPF-replacement-ROUND.html >--> >-->john >--> >--> ---- >--> >-->------------------------------------------------------------------------- >--> ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** >--> Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. >-->------------------------------------------------------------------------- >--> >--> >--> >--> >--> >--> ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 2004 22:45:34 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] small ray of sunshine On Wed, 17 Nov 2004, tomdurkin wrote: >-->John, What price are you looking at for those IPF jobs? '97??? wow.... I only have one "extra" set, sort of, of the rectangulars... I have a set on SuperDawg, but since I plan on getting an XJ in the future, and should keep a spare set for my J10... I guess I'm not interested in selling mine... :) ARB-USA should have a list of distributers... Central 4wd is one, as are a number of other 4x4 shops. I'd be a reseller in a heartbeat, but in order for me to sell them I have to buy $10k worth of them... My side business isn't in a position to invest that much... I built up an inventory of amsoil in the '80s and still have stock left... I'm just not interested in peddaling stuff without a store front... I guess I prefer having benefits, a day job and playing with other people's computers. :) Anyway, I'd kick up the bulbs a bit at least with the Bosch and find some IPF magic greens, 55w rated but actually put out more effective light... or try the silverstars... or piaa's... although the piaas may not hold up as well. They also have a higher output at the "same" wattage model... check with a local shop. ONe of the guys on the xj list had a set of piaas and I think bosch lenses... he got a rock chip and blew out his piaas... we all noticed the better lens of the IPFs... I sold him a set of extra bulbs I had so he could get the rest of the way home... john >-->----- Original Message ----- >-->From: "john" >-->To: "wmpless" >-->Cc: >-->Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2004 5:06 PM >-->Subject: Re: [db] small ray of sunshine >--> >--> >-->> the other thing I've noticed with the hella and bosch >-->glass >-->> is that it's not nearly as thick as the ipf's... also, >-->there >-->> is another off-bosch brand made in italy called >-->candella???. >-->> >-->> They're all about the same price, but I think IPF will be >-->> harder to find...
