Can't see anything obvious... anyone experienced this or know where to start looking (am gonna check the seals this evening). You know there is something going on when the dealer has a lot of the same parts on hand... they had 5 ignition assemblies on hand... :) This lock is a lot easier to remove then a Mercedes cylinder that fails though... :) no sawzall required. :) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 07:13:10 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: [db] Re: 300 D 1991 On Tue, 23 Nov 2004, Koorosh wrote: >-->Thank you for your help. Ask your Mercedes dealer to print out the page where the parts are listed so you have a pictorial representation of how things should go in there. :) john >--> >-->john wrote: >--> >-->you only need to the special tool for the >-->things under the lock nuts: >-->the tool on the left... splined socket: >-->http://wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/TECH/Pressure-Valve-Seal-Replacement/8-ne wtools.jpg >-->http://wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/TECH/Pressure-Valve-Seal-Replacement/ >--> >-->the crowfoot wrench is nice, but a 17mm open end wrench will also work. >-->tools aren't too expensive. >--> >-->just keep things clean and you'll be fine. >--> >-->the time estimates sound reasonable...
