If my overhead wasn't so high living out here on the "left" coast I'd have gladly done something like that. btw, on http://www.swedishantiques.biz/lighting.htm found a misspelling: Chandileers (not sure why, but it caught my eye just clicking through the site... too much teaching and grading papers I guess... ;) (decided to look since my wife is looking for stuff like this. ;) I was just travelling around the country teaching UNIX and Linux classes... got to drive the 124 down to the bay area a couple of times... and over to spokane... was nice avoiding airports... :) got almost 40mpg a couple of times. going down I-5 couldn't seem to get much over 35mpg though... ;) was travelling coast to coast... Monterey to Manhatten... Spokane to San Diego, with stops in Missouri, Texas and Arizona... Had I been able to schedule things just a wee bit better I could have driven to San Diego, then to San Antonio, then St. Louis and then back home... but not enough time... :( only place I didn't get to was the southeast... almost landed in Atlanta and FL a couple of times... believe it or not got an inquiry about teaching a solaris class in Egypt! I was doing ok with it, but the uncertainty, the time on the road and the conflict with teaching at city u was a royal pain... that and no benefits... new job is pretty intense, but it's solid and I'm fitting right in. I had a few contract gigs over the year and a half that I was hopeful about, but they always turned out to be something other than unix sys admin... figured out that I don't want to be a systems analyst, tech writer or windows guy any more... :) not that I was ever really a windows guy... ;) well, back to work... cleaning office, computers, prepping for next quarter and backing up files... had to take my vacation this week... it's rough... ;) john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #1679 **********************************
