The problem was that it was Really Dirty. Paper towel after paper towel came out black. Inspired, I started cleaning off the inside windshields of my other cars. You know, how they get this haze on the ininside that just gathers moisture in the morning? Ordinary cleaners seem to just smush it around. One can get the haze off by dry-rubbing it - over and over again. But that's a lot of work. The Smart Car comes in a cabrio..... A bit teeny but still a whole lot of fun..... Then again im not sure if I would want a diesel convertible myself...... I even kind of like the diesel smell..... I had an MG that ran a bit rich and the smell got a bit obnoxious at times........ Although I did love it when the exhaust made that rapping sound when I downshifted..... :) If you used an old enough car you could swap an engine without a problem. But a Miata would probably be too new (at least in Georgia).... Seems too good to be true but heck one never knows...... By chance is the interior on that car MB tex? Must be something about German interiors but my dad had a VW with the same problem....... Two might be just bad luck but three kind of stretches the luck thing a bit...... Something like a bad ground or bad connection somewhere might be the real source of your issues...... I haven't cleaned the windows on my Mercedes ever... previous owner wasn't a smoker either... must be our lack of sun here...
