Hmmm, I have always worried about doing this to my car and make sure that I am familiar with the pump before sticking the nozzle in my tank..... Im glad you were able to get home ok...... My solution would have involved a tow truck and a thrown away tank of fuel.... :) Robert Chase Mike Frank wrote: > I made a terrible mistake the other day. Every time I drive an A1 or A2 chassis diesel VW I feel about 15 years younger. The paint problem may also apply to 84, which didn't get the tranny and gearing mods. I'd probably pick a well repainted 85 first, then an 83, then an unrepainted 85. BTW, I think I just sold my '83 300D Turbo Diesel that needs engine work... john On Sun, 9 Jan 2005, Bill Dentzel wrote: >-->I drive an '83 300D Turbodiesel, I love it (except for >-->the vacume problems of course), my son drives an '81 >-->300D, it runs great but isn't quite as nice as mine. >-->I want to get one for my wife, question: is there a >-->best year? >-->Thanks, >-->Bill >--> >-->===== >-->William H.
