Specs: '83 300D Turbo Cream New Brakes ~800 miles ago (freeway) A/C Still blows cold ~216K on the clock Few dings / wood is still in very good condition Bad news. The transmission. On my way back on a road trip, first gear took a vacation. All of the other gears work fine, including reverse. In first gear it's like it's a manual car and I'm just barely engaging the clutch. Once it gets to a certain speed, it shifts to second and everything seems fine. Other things with the car: Tachometer is intermittent One of the rear door's hinge has been cut. It froze on me right before the transmission died, so I dremeled it so i could close the door. I have attached pictures of the car if you are interested. I can send more if anyone is interested. Car is located in Davis, CA which is 12 miles west of Sacramento or about 40 miles east of the bay. I would say the car is drivable since I drove it a few times afterwards and drove it home from a road trip (150 miles.) It has leaked most of the transmission fluid during the time it has been sitting. Although, while it has been sitting, I have started it once or twice a week. I will send pictures to whoever is interested Thanks for readin! tim ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Mar 2005 23:40:03 -0500 (EST) From: john Subject: RE: [db] sheepskins - 124 series shouldn't affect headroom... especially since your wallet will be thinner... :) john On Thu, 3 Mar 2005, Alec Cordova wrote: >-->No, thanks.
