My 87 300D had an alpine CD/MP3 player installed. PO did a straight run from the battery, and otherwise used the remainder of the car's wiring - the antenna power control hooked right up to the alpine. The PO actually went through the effort to bypass the front/rear fader as the pot in the fader gets noisy after 15 years of service. The alpine now controls the fader itself. My experience with Sony CD players is not great - while the deck provides good sound quality, the CD mechanism is highly prone to failure just outside the warranty period. To convert a temperature Step 1: Add 40 ( this brings the common point to zero ) Step 2: Multiply by 5/9 to go to the larger Celsius degrees, or 9/5 to go to the smaller Fahrenheit degrees. Step 3: Subtract 40 to move back to reality. This has always seemed easier to me than remembering when to add or subtract the 32. Motherboard failed last week. Luckily, it was an Intel with a 3 year warranty. Tech support was difficult to understand..... My count: 8. I can check if they are for sale.... but from what I hear the "mileage" in water is really poor :-) . As regional sales manager, with constantly shifting regions, I get to go places where most sane persons would not. In any event, don't feel bad on my account, it has taken 25 years at this to reach 52. Most recent addition was Turkey. Interesting place, I kind of put it half way on the development/comfort scale between say, Slovakia and rural China (as in PRC) only with post war French inspired driving schools. No rules mate. My 93 300 D is still in the shop, went in for oil leaks, got that fixed, put in new chain, guides, dampers, etc while at it. Now the indy is trying to trace a compression leak in two of the pre-combustion chambers. The head was found to have been recently rebuilt (by PO or seller), apparently by someone not well versed in Benz methods. Meanwhile....as the meter continues to go kaching and the wallet gets thinner, but still a lot less than paying for a new one (or at least that is what I keep telling myself)! Popped fuses faster than I could find them. And since that filter arrangement gave me a great upper body workout I figured that maybe that was asking a bit much of the pump. Ok, ok, so I'm being a bit over the top with the filtering... don't really need it down to 1 micron.... so I removed the 1 micron filter housing from the equation leaving a 15-30 micron filter... that should keep french fries and onion rings out of my injectors at least... ok, flip the switch, anticipating the flow of veggie oil into my 5 gallon plastic Diesel can (it's yellow)... instead I hear a pitiful sound from the pump and see a flash. Ok, ok, maybe a filter is too much for this pump, let's just try to pump out of the barrel back into it... it almost did it, then flash... blew the fuse. It's 70 degrees, this stuff flows quite well. So, I took my modified (reduced) filter setup, attached it to my manual pump and pumped about 15 gallons in less time than I'd spent replacing fuses. Put 5 gallons in my '91 300D. Topped off the A/C tonight as well, it was a little low... so tomorrow I'll smell like a steak bbq and feel cool air... Guess I'll need to send that pump back, it's probably defective as it made some horrible sounds when I first turned it on. The guy at NH said it shouldn't have problems with vegetable oil. There is a good chance the Jimmy will be ready this weekend and I can start pumping some of this veggie oil into an auxillary tank on it and start using it up. Did the math this morning... looks like the Jimmy will use about 15 gallons a week, which is about what I get from Blue Moon Burgers. :) I can hardly wait for SuperDawg to be finished...
