Tonight, I was doing a steady 77 mph when it would occasionally surge suddenly, sending me jumping to 82 mph. Other than an initial boost feeling, it accelerated very smoothly, as if it suddenly got a purer fuel feed. Flat section of road, no change in foot on pedal. Is this something I should be worried about? And of course it's quite possible that Shadowfax will be put up for adoption as well. We'll see... Smells pretty good right now... reminds me of steaks on the bbq! :) BTW, just checked with comcast on getting a business connection so I can host wagoneers.com and JohnMeister.com on my own system. It'll double my cost over my basic connection, but I'd have the freedom to provide email/web service to others. I did a little math, if I can get about 20 subscribers who want a "wagoneers.com" email address and website I could cover my costs and make the move. Anyone interested? I'm building a fresh Linux system that will have a 200G drive, so there will be plenty of space, I'll probably limit the space for each user to some reasonable amount, maybe a few Gig, not sure... more for more, etc. I'll have the box behind a firewall with it's own firewall running as well. I've hardened boxes before so this won't be a problem to secure. It'll have 5M download, 512K up on the connection. Will be running Suse 9.2, will offer ftp, ssh, pine/smtp/pop and http. Had I been in a Jeep I may have driven down into the ditch... A few more feet either way and he would have rolled it into the ditch or down the driveway through some blackberries and into my neighbor's house. He tore up the asphalt pretty bad, but only on the edge. Pretty cool skid marks in front of our driveway now. :) I've got pictures of the extraction, it's not every day you see a garbage truck with it's rear wheels in the air... the deer, well it lost the game in "sudden death".
